Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS)

Grandis Dental are proud providers of the Child Dental Benefits Scheme, so every child can achieve a healthy beautiful smile.

The Child Dental Benefits Scheme offers eligible children $1000 funding for basic dental care over a period of two years.

Children and teenagers are eligible for the CDBS if they are;

• 2-17 years for any one day of the calendar year
• eligible for Medicare and are part of a family that receives Family Tax Benefits Part A

We welcome parents to ask as many questions as possible to help ease concerns they might have in regards to their children’s teeth from oral hygiene habits, thumb sucking and tooth alignment.

Fissure Sealants

Sometimes the back teeth have deep pits and grooves that can be difficult to clean. An effective way to prevent decay in these teeth is to place a preventative fissure sealant, which fills the pits and acts as a barrier to plaque and bacteria.

This is a common preventative treatment for children to prevent early decay.

Mouthguards

Sporting accidents are one of the most common causes of dental injury. Every year thousands of people including young children are treated for dental injuries that could have been avoided by wearing a mouthguard.

A mouthguard should be worn during all contact sport, as it helps absorb and spread the impact of a blow to the face that might otherwise result in an injury to the mouth and jaws.

Not all mouthguards are equal. The ADA and Standards Australia recommends only custom-fitted mouthguards made by a dentist.

At Grandis Dental our mouthguards are designed for comfort and custom-fitted for maximum protection of the teeth and soft tissues and stabilising the jaws on impact. We have an array of colours, designs and patterns to choose from.
